DPL Day-4 : Two wins in a row for Dhangadi

Dhangadi secured second victory in the ongoing DPL as they knocked Mahendranagar United by 8 wickets in the fourth day of the tournament.

After winning the toss, skipper Sompal Kami elected to field first and his decision was rightly proven by his bowlers, especially Lalit Bhandari. Bhandari was the key bowler in dismissing Mahendranagar for a mere 131 runs as he snatched 4 wickets to his name. Sompal Kami and Samsad Sheikh also took a wicket each to their names.

The batting cards didn’t look pretty for Mahendranagar United. The top order batsmen failed to deliver as they were 6 for 69 at one stage. But Punit Mehra’s 40 and Bhuwan Karki’s 32 helped them to post a decent score in the board.

Brilliant with the ball, Dhangadi were brilliant with the bat too.  The openers added 47 runs for the first wicket. Ashfaq Ahmed scored 30 runs from 24 balls with 6 elegant boundaries. Another opener Sunil Dhamala was outstanding with the bat as he made 46 runs with 3 fours and 2 sixes and remained unbeaten too. Rohan Mustafa also continued his fine form making 39 runs. The chase was completed in 18 over with ease.

Lalit Bhandari was declared the player of the match for his four wicket haul.
