Malla, Lamichhane dismantle UAE ‘A’

Gyanendra Malla’s inspiring century and Sandeep Lamichhane classic bowling performance gave Nepal the second victory against UAE A by 193 runs. In the first match Nepal had crushed UAE A by 25 runs.

Nepal won the toss and decided to bat first here at the ICC Global Academy Cricket ground. The openers took full advantage of the decision and put on 142 runs for the first wicket before Dilip was run out for 64 runs from 79 balls that incorporated 6 fours and 2 sixes. Topping the batting cards, exuberant Malla played a fine knock of 154 runs with 17 fours smashing the bowlers all around the park. He was dismissed by Laxman Sree Kumar when Nepal had already added a massive score of 322 in the board. Towards the end Aarif Sheikh made a quick fire 41 runs from 33 balls to end the innings at 333 for 5.

The bowling card of UAE A was dismantled by Nepalese batsman. Despite picking a wicket Wasif Ahmed was expensive yielding 85 runs in his 10 over’s spell. Karthik Mayappan was their best bowler with the figure of 10-0-58-1.

The batting card of UAE A also didn’t looked pretty as they were bundled for a mere 140 runs in 40.2 over’s. Mohammad Qasim top scored with 41 runs. Lamichhane’s leg break was too good for UAE A. He had an outstanding figure of 10-0-36-4. Skipper Paras continued his excellent form with ball picking up 2 wickets to his name.
