Nepal U-19 enter into the Finals of ACC Eastern Region 2017

Nepal U-19 enter into the Finals of ACC Eastern Region defeating host Malaysia by 10 wickets in a one sided semi final played today at Kinara Oval.

Team Nepal will face the winner of second semi final (Hong Kong vs Singapore) on 17th of September at Kinara Oval. Winner of this ACC Eastern Region will qualify for U-19 Asia Cup also to be held in Malaysia this November.

Malaysia U-19, after being invited to bat first only managed to post 121 runs on the board with the loss of all wickets in 42 overs. In restricting Malaysia U-19 to this score, Nepalese bowlers did a remarkable job. Dipendra Singh Airee took 5 wickets in his 8 overs conceding just 29 runs whereas Rohit Paudel ,Shahab Alam and Sandeep Lamichhane took a wicket. Pawan Sarraf chipped in with 2 wickets. For Malaysia, Nalin De Silva scored 39 runs and Virandeep Jagjit Singh managed 25 runs.

Chasing the target of just 122 runs, Nepalese openers Aasif Sheikh and Sandeep Sunar played not out innings of 50 and 51 runs respectively, taking Nepal into the Final of the tournament.

Dipendra Singh Airee was declared man of the match for his brilliant contribution with the ball.

Nepal will play the final against Hong Kong on 17th of September at Kinara Oval.
