Nepali Rhinos carved their way to Semi Finals by Defeating UAE Falcons by 5 wickets in the ongoing 2X cricket USA Cup Tournament. ( Scorecard )
In the same group MSM England defeated Somerset Cavaliers which made sure the Rhinos enters the Semi Finals before playing one match as they become only the team to win 2 matches in Group A. According to the tournament Format winner and runner up from each group will enter the semis to compete against each others. MSM England and UAE Falcons each have 1 win and a loss in their account whereas Somerset is yet to win any matches in this group.
Nepali Rhinos are facing Somerset Cavaliers in their last group match today at 12:45pm.
UAE falcons invited to bat first could only manage to post 90 runs in the board with the loss of 2 wickets in their first Innings of 10 over’s. Nepali Rhinos coming to bat first could only post the score of 86 with the loss of 2 wickets, trailing by 4 runs in their first innings.
UAE Falcons with 4 runs lead could only score 47 in their second innings with the loss of all wickets. To stop Falcons in this score, bowlers did a tremendous job with Captain Paras and Shawn Findlay taking 3 wickets each and Basant Regmi and Rusty Theron with 1-1 wickets alongside Sompal Kami once again chipping two crucial Wickets of UAE Falcons.
Nepali Rhinos were presented with the target of 52 runs in their second innings which they achieved in the 19th over with losing 5 wickets. For Nepali Rhinos Subash Khakurel made 39 runs whereas Paras Khadka with 33 alongside Gyanendra Malla making 27 runs. In the middle order Shawn Findlay and Sharad Veswakar made 11 and 2 runs respectively. Prithu Baskota and Sompal Kami not out partnership at the end made Nepali Rhinos victorious in their Second Encounter.
Nepali Rhinos defeated Montgomery Sports Management England (MSM) by 7 wickets in their First encounter of 2x Cricket tournament.
Winner of this Tournament will win a Mitsubishi Car along with 60,000 USD. This Tournament being a T-20 format have been designed like Test cricket with 10 over’s per 4 innings.
