Sandeep to play for Delhi Daredevils in VIVO IPL

Sandeep Lamichhane has written history after being picked by Delhi Daredevils in the IPL Auction held at Bengaluru for the season 2018. Delhi snapped him for the base price of 20 Lakhs INR. He is the first player from Nepal to play in Indian Premier League.

Despite being only 17 years, Lamichhane has already played 9 games for Nepal national team where he pulled out 9 wickets. He first came into attention when he became second highest wicket taker of the ICC U19 World cup 2016 taking 14 wickets and keeping the likes of Rashid Khan and Shadab Khan in shadow. He also made the headlines by taking a hat trick against Ireland helping Nepal to eventually qualify for the quarter finals in the same event.

Former cricketer and captain of Cricket Australia Michael Clarke invited him to train at his cricket academy in Sydney where he also played for Western Suburbs.

Sandeep will be representing a Delhi Daredevils side that constitutes of luminous players of world cricket such as Gautam Gambhir, Glenn Maxwell and Kagiso Rabada. Owned by GMR group, Delhi Daredevils is coached by Australian legend Ricky Ponting.
