Day 7 PM Cup: APF, Province 7 topple their groups

Armed Police Force (APF) and Province No. 7 go top of group A and B respectively after recording victories in the 7th day of prime ministers cup, Kathmandu.

Province No.3 Vs Province No. 7 Scorecard

Province 7 got a hard fought victory over Province 3 in the match played at TU Crciket Ground. In a low scoring contest, Province 7 managed a 2 wicket win after partly contribution from Sanju Damai (25), Bijay Rana (24) and Arun Airee (21).

Defending small target of 117 runs, the bowlers kept fighting till the end. They kept continuous pressure, however at the end the score proved too small. Sagar Dhakal was terrific with the ball taking 2 wickets and giving away only 20 runs in 10 overs. Another bowler Jitendra Thakuri bowled 6 overs picking 2 wicket too.

But it was all about Sher Malla, who dismissed 4 batsmen to keep them at bay. Bikash Aagri supported Malla picking 3 wickets too. For Province 3, Jitendra Thakuri made 40 while Sonu Tamang added 29, but other batsman failed to make any significant contribution leading the score to a mere 116. Sher Malla was declared the player of the match.

Province No. 1 Vs Armed Police Force Scorecard

APF defeated province No, 1 by a comfortable 9 wickets at Mulpani Cricket Ground to go top of group A. Points table

Led by Anil Sah, the star studded side completed the chase in 16.3 overs to topple the group with better run rate than Tribhuvan Army Club. Opener Anil Sah smashed 62 from 48 balls with 5 boundaries and 3 massive sixes. Another opener, Pradeep Airee made 23 before getting out to Sandeep Dhungana. Likewise, Prithu Banskota came to replace Pradeep Airee who with Anil Sah completed the chase remaining unbeaten till the end. Banskota contributed 32 off 32 balls with 5 fours.

Earlier, APF won the toss and invited Province 1 to bat first. They could only manage 127 runs getting all out in 42 overs. Karan KC, Bhuwan Karki, Basant Regmi and Amar Routela took 2 wickets each. Sandeep Dhungana top scored with 29 for the losing side. Anil Sah was declared the player of the match.
