Nepal hopeful of game time ahead of Scotland Tri-series

Nepal are playing their second and final One-day match against Canada today. The match starts at 8:45 NPT. The first of two One-dayers was washed out yesterday due to rain. They won both their 20-over warm-up matches comfortably by 69 and 55 runs against Ontario. But given the importance of the upcoming tri-series, they desperately need some quality games (50-over) before they take on the hosts, Scotland and Namibia, much-improved side these days.

The conditions are expected to be much tougher in Scotland. Both Scotland and Namibia are playing really good cricket. Nepal will be hoping that the weather improves today so that they can have a full 50-overs match. The two sides – Canada and Nepal – have not faced each other in one-dayers since they last played in Namibia (2018) during the WCL-2 game where Karan KC’s miraculous innings sent Nepal to the CWC qualifiers.

Nepal are currently placed in the middle table (at 5), just a point above Namibia (6th) in the ongoing CWC league 2. But they have already played 16 matches, two more than Namibia’s 14 matches. Scotland, on other hand, are in a better position. Having lost only 5 matches so far, Scotland are only behind Oman, who have already played out all their matches, with 28 points in the table.
