Nepali Cricket team’s Skipper Sandeep Lamichhane has been picked by Dambulla Giants for 40K USD under the International category for the third season of the Lankan Premier League.
This will be Sandeep’s first appearance in the Lankan Premier League. Having made his IPL debut in 2018, Nepal’s global superstar, Lamichhane has already featured in all the major T20 franchise leagues (except the blast, which was due to visa issues) across the globe.
Dambulla Giants are yet to reach the finals in the LPL. Giants reached the semi-final in the first edition of the tournament, whereas they lost to Jaffna Kings in last year’s second qualifier. The third edition of the Lankan Premier League will take place from July 31 to August 21.
Sandeep last played overseas franchise league back in January this year for Hobart Hurricanes. He took 14 wickets in as many matches for the Hurricanes. Nepal is currently in Canada where they have played two 20-over matches and are set to play a further two 50-over matches before they fly to Scotland for CWC league-2 Tri-series.
