U19 National : Sudurpaschim and Province-1 victorious

Province-1 and Sudurpaschim Province won the two matches of the ongoing under-19 national cricket tournament in Kathmandu. Province-1 defeated Gandaki Province and Far West defeated Karnali Province.

Province Number 1 defeated Gandaki Province by 21 runs in the match held at Mulpani ground. Chasing the target of 184 runs given by Province-1, Gandaki lost all wickets after scoring 162 runs in 48.3 overs. This is Gandaki’s second loss. Bagmati province defeated Gandaki yesterday.

Karan Pangeni top scored for Gandaki Pradesh with 48 runs. Deepak Dumre scored 25, Arjun Kumal scored 22 and Subash Bhandari scored 18 runs.

Province-1 bowlers Dipesh Kandel and Ashwin Mahato took 3 wickets each and Bipin Mahato and Sonu Ansari took 2 wickets each.

Earlier, Province-1, who won the toss and batted, lost all wickets for 183 runs in 49.4 overs.

State-1 opener Sonu Ansari scored the highest 64 runs in which he hit 6 fours and 1 six off 94 balls. Captain Dipesh Kandel scored 36 runs and Faizal Rahman scored 26 runs.

Gandaki bowler Shishir Bhushal took 4 wickets, Nirtesh Giri took 3 wickets, Subash Bhandari took 2 wickets and Sudip Aryal took 1 wicket.

Karnali defeated by Sudurpaschim, Milan’s all-round performance

In the second match of the day, Sudurpaschim defeated Karnali Pradesh by 5 wickets. Sudurpaschim met the target of 128 runs given by Karnali Pradesh by losing 5 wickets in 26.2 overs.

Milan Bohara contributed the most for Sudurpaschim with 42 runs. Deepak Bohra (opener) and Deepak Bohra (number five) scored 20 runs. Sunil Chand scored 13 runs unbeaten and Anurag Singh scored 10 runs. Karnali’s fast bowler Anuj Chanara took 3 wickets and Sandeep Shahi and Mohan Bk took 1 wicket each.

Earlier, Karnali Pradesh lost the toss and scored 127 runs in 32.3 overs. Dinesh Adhikari scored 35 runs for Karnali. Subash Ayer scored 30 runs, Bipin Rawal scored 19 runs and Awash Shah scored 15 runs. South West’s Milan Bohra took 3 wickets, Naren Saud took 2 wickets and Hemant Dhami and Kailash Ayer took 1 wicket each.
