Former Indian Under-19 national team captain Unmukt Chand will play for Lumbini All Stars in the first edition of the Nepal T20 League, which will start from December 23rd in Kathmandu.
India won the 2012 U-19 World Cup under the captaincy of Chand, who announced his retirement from Indian cricket last year and decided to pursue a future in cricket in America. Chand also represented three IPL teams namely Delhi Daredevils, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians and also played in the Big Bash League last season. He is the first Indian cricketer to play Big Bash of Australia.
29-year-old Chand has scored 1,600 runs with 3 centuries and 5 fifties while playing 79 T20s.
Along with this, Lumbini All Stars has announced all the foreign players in the team. It was Ger’s announcement today that the Stars have also signed Ireland’s Harry Tector. The team has foreign players like Ramit Singh, Bipul Sharma, Pat Brown, Nuwan Thusara and Lahiru Milantha.
Lumbini has appointed former England first-class cricketer Peter Trego as coach.
Dipendra Airee is the marquee player in the team and the national cricketers Kushal Bhurtel, Gulsan Jha, Sagar Dhakal, Sunil Dhamala, Anil Shah, Ishan Pandey, Kishore Mahato are in the team.
