Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been released from prison after posting a bond of Rs 20 lakh in the High Court, Patan. On Thursday, the High Court overturned the previous order of the District Court, Kathmandu to send him to prison for preliminary investigation and instead granted him bail.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is discussing the suspension of Sandeep Lamichhane. They will consult with legal experts to determine if the suspension imposed on Sandeep can be lifted and if he can return to the national team. According to CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand, they will also ask for suggestions from the International Cricket Council (ICC) before taking a decision.
Talking to journalists, Sandeep said that he plans to return to the cricket field soon. He stated, “I will return to the cricket field soon. I will come back very well.”
“I will respect this order. Rather than winning or losing, I will respect what comes from the side of the law and move forward. For now, I can’t think of anything else but my family. Sometimes I need my family with me. Thank you for your immense love. I am not in a position to respond much at the moment. In time, everything will come before everyone.” Sandeep said.
