Nepal Won the match against PNG in ICC League 2 at UAE

Nepal won the match against PNG in ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 at Dubai Cricket Stadium (UAE), registering a victory over PNG by 4 wickets with 28 balls left.

The Nepali Cricket Team has won five consecutive ODI matches within this month. This is the first time in Nepali ODI history that they have won 5 consecutive matches against strong opponents.

Nepal chased the target and managed to score 207 with 1 wicket lost in 45.2 overs. Kushal Bhurtel was the top scorer for Nepal, scoring 56 off 69 balls, and Aasif Sheikh scored 44 runs in 39 balls.


Assad Vala took 3 wickets, while Norman Vanua and Sese Bau took 1 wicket each for PNG. PNG conceded 11 extra runs with 6 wides.


Before that, again Rohit Poudel won the toss and elected to bowl first. PNG only managed to score 203 runs in 50 overs and lost nine wickets. Chad Soper and Assad Vala scored the same amount of runs in the same amount of balls. They scored 36 runs off 53 balls


Gulsan Jha took 3 wickets, while Kushal Malla took 1 wicket in his 8 overs. The Nepali bowlers gave away 18 extras, which included 8 wides.

The Man of the Match award was presented to Kushal Bhurtel for his outstanding knock of 56 runs off 69 balls with 1 outstanding catch.


Nepal’s next game of the tournament will be played against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on February 27 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
