Nepal won the match against Qatar by 68 runs at the TU Cricket Ground (Nepal).
In the second inning, Qatar starts the inning with six, and Nepal is completely dominant in the second inning. Qatar wasn’t able to cross 100 runs against the top-class Nepali bowler.
Zaheer Ibrahim was the top scorer for Qatar, scoring 15 off 23 balls, and Khurram Shahzad scored 15 runs in 28 balls. Qatar scored only 89 runs in 25.1 runs, losing all wickets.
Sandeep Lamichhane took a 5-wicket haul, while Sompal Kami took 3 wickets for Nepal. Nepal conceded 10 extra runs, which included 10 wides.
Before that, Qatar won the toss and elected to bowl first. Nepal only managed to score 157 runs in 40.3 overs and lose all 10 wickets. Main bowler Sandeep Lamichhane played an inning of 42 off 58 balls, and Sompal Kami scored 63 runs in 48 balls.
This is the lowest run for Nepal in the last three months against small teams. The Nepali opener couldn’t do a better partnership in the first powerplay in the last 2–3 months.
Amir Farooq of Qatar took four wickets, while Owais Ahmed took three.The Qatari bowlers gave away 16 extras, which included 12 wides.
The next match of the day is between Hong Kong and Kuwait. Whoever wins that game, that team will advance to the semi-final with table-topper Nepal, Oman, and UAE.
The Man of the Match award was presented to Sandeep Lamichhane for his 42 runs and 5 wickets haul.
