The Nepali team from South Africa lost to Scotland in a practice match to prepare for the ICC One Day World Cup Qualifiers to be held in Zimbabwe from June 3rd.
In the practice match on Thursday, Nepal lost to Scotland by seven wickets. Chasing a winning target of 133 runs for victory, Scotland completed the target with the loss of three wickets in 29 overs. Brendan McMullan scored 59 and captain Richie Berrington scored 41 for Scotland. Gulshan Jha of Nepal took two wickets and Sompal Kami took one wicket in bowling.
Earlier, Nepal, who lost the toss and batted first, managed to score only 132 runs in 28.5 overs with the loss of all wickets. Kushal Malla scored 37 runs for Nepal. Asif Sheikh scored 28 runs, Kushal Bhurtel scored 16 runs and Dipendra Singh Airee scored 13 runs. Other players could not score runs in double figures.
In bowling, Scotland’s Brendan McCumlan and Jack Jarvis took three wickets each. Shafyan Sharif took two wickets and Neil and Hamza Tahir took one wicket each. Nepal will play against Netherlands on Saturday in South Africa.
