The highly anticipated match between Nepal and India ‘A’ in the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Cup had to be called off today (Thursday) due to persistent rain at the Hong Kong’s Mong Kok Cricket Ground.
With unfavorable weather conditions preventing the toss and subsequent play, the match had to be cancelled. As a result, Nepal and India ‘A’ will share the points for this encounter. This development keeps Nepal’s hopes alive to progress to the semifinals.
In Group ‘A’ of the tournament, Nepal is joined by Hong Kong, India, and Pakistan. Meanwhile, Group ‘B’ comprises Malaysia, UAE, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
Nepal’s performance in the tournament has been promising so far, earning them one point from two matches. In their previous game, Nepal faced a defeat against Pakistan ‘A’ by a margin of 9 runs. However, the upcoming final group stage match
against Hong Kong on July 17 will provide them with another opportunity to showcase their skills and secure a spot in the semifinals.
Unfortunately, the weather played spoilsport on this occasion, but the teams remain determined to make their mark in the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Cup.
