Nepal’s women’s cricket team defeated Malaysia by three wickets in the fifth and final Twenty20 international cricket match on Sunday, winning the series 3-2.
Sita Rana Magar’s 34 runs off 37 balls with six fours helped Nepal chase down Malaysia’s total of 110 runs. Captain Rubina Chhetry scored 23 runs, while Jyoti Pandey and Apsari Begum were unbeaten on 11 and 15 runs, respectively. Opener Kabita Kunwar scored four runs, Indu Barma and Bindu Rawal scored five runs each.
Ainna Hamizah Hashim took two wickets for Malaysia. Mahirah Izzati Ismail, Winfred Duraisingam, and Aisya Elessa each took one wicket.
Wan Julia top-scored for Malaysia with 47 runs. Duraisingam added 24 runs, and Ismail scored 20 runs. No other Malaysian batsman reached double figures.
Kabita Joshi took two wickets for Nepal, and Ishwori Bist took one wicket.
