In the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup cricket tournament, Nepal faced a defeat against Pakistan A. The match took place at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground, where Nepal lost by four wickets.
Pakistan successfully chased Nepal’s target of 180 runs at the Colombo Cricket Club ground, losing 6 wickets in 32.5 overs. Tayyab Tahir scored 51, Omer Yousuf contributed 36, and Kamran Ghulam added 31 runs to Pakistan’s total. Shahnawaz Dahani claimed 5 wickets, while Mohammad Wasim took 4 wickets for Pakistan. The player of the match, Dahani, conceded 51 runs with 1 maiden over in his 10-over spell.
After winning the toss and batting very badly, Nepal lost the first 8 wickets for a total of 72 runs. Sompal Kami shared 58 runs with Pratish JC for the ninth wicket and Sompal and Lalit Rajbanshi shared 59 runs for the tenth wicket to lead Nepal to a respectable total. Sompal scored 75 runs off 101 balls with the help of 9 fours and 2 sixes. Pratish scored 26 runs, Kushal Malla and Arjun Saud scored 17 runs each, Gulsan Jha scored 13 runs and Asif Shaikh scored 12 runs.
For Nepal’s bowling, left-arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi took 3 wickets (8.5-1-50-3) and Pawan Sarraf took 2 wickets (5-1-15-2).
The third day of the tournament will be played between Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A and Bangladesh A and Oman A on Saturday. Nepal will play their next match against India A on July 17.
