In an unexpected move, the Montreal Tigers excluded Nepali all-rounder Dipendra Airee from their playing xi in the second match of the Global T20 Canada League against the Mississauga Panthers. The decision came after winning the toss and electing to field.
Dipendra had made his debut in the previous match against Surrey Jaguar in the league and impressed with his batting performance, scoring 28 runs off 22 balls, including 2 fours. Despite his significant contribution to the team’s victory, he did not get a chance to play in the second match.
The Montreal Tigers opted to include leg-spin all-rounder Matthew Spoors in the playing xi instead of Airee.
