The eagerly-awaited match between India and Pakistan at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has been rescheduled to a different day, while details of eight other matches have also been changed.
The clash between the two arch-rivals was originally slated to take place in Ahmedabad on Sunday, 15 October, but this has been moved a day earlier and will now be held at the same venue on Saturday, 14 October.
As a result, England’s fixture against Afghanistan in Delhi will be moved from Saturday, 14 October and will now be played 24 hours later on Sunday, 15 October.
The other changes to the schedule are as follows:
Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad has moved from Thursday, 12 October to Tuesday, 10 October.
Australia’s match against South Africa in Lucknow has moved from Friday, 13 October to Thursday, 12 October.
New Zealand’s match against Bangladesh in Chennai has moved from 14 October to 13 October and will now be played as a day-night match.
England’s match against Bangladesh in Dharamsala will now be a day match and start at 10:30 AM (local time).
The Australia vs Bangladesh and England vs Pakistan matches on Sunday, 12 November have been moved to Saturday, 11 November.
India’s last league match against the Netherlands has been moved from 11 to 12 November and will now be played in Bengaluru.
The World Cup commences on Thursday, 5 October when 2019 finalists England and New Zealand clash at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with the event culminating in the final at the same venue on Sunday, 19 November.
Tickets for the tournament will go on sale in a staggered approach, with the first phase of sales starting on 20 August. Fans will be able to register their interest for tickets from 10 August.
