Sandeep Lamichhane Not Going to Pakistan with Team for Asia Cup

Nepali national team leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane will not be traveling to Pakistan with the team for the Asia Cup.

The final hearing of Lamichhane’s rape case was postponed, so he was unable to travel with the team. The national team is scheduled to leave for Pakistan on Wednesday, if all internal preparations are completed.

Lamichhane’s last appearance in court was on Thursday. However, the final hearing could not be held at that time, so there is no possibility of him traveling to Pakistan with the team.

Sandeep’s lawyer, Saroj krishna Ghimire, confirmed that Lamichhane will not be traveling to Pakistan with the team. He said that the next hearing in Sandeep’s case has not yet been scheduled. According to the court order, Ghimire said that the next hearing will be scheduled after the mother’s date of birth has been verified.

Ghimire also said that it has not yet been decided whether Sandeep will play in the Asia Cup.

The Nepali team is scheduled to travel to Pakistan on August 23 to play practice games and train in Karachi until August 26. In the Asia Cup, Nepal, India, and Pakistan are in Group A. Nepal will play Pakistan on August 30 and India on September 4.

Group ‘B’ has Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The top two teams from each group will enter the Super Four. The top two teams of the Super Four will compete for the title.

This will be the first time that Nepal will play an ODI match against India and Pakistan. The Nepali team will be looking to make their mark in the tournament and create some upsets.
