Nepal secured its second consecutive ACC U-19 Premier Cup title today, defeating Bahrain by 7 wickets.
In the match, Bahrain set a target of 78 runs, which they chased down successfully. Nepal reached the target, losing only 3 wickets in 12 overs. Despite losing 2 wickets in the first over, Nepal managed to score 10 runs. Captain Dev Khanal and Arjun Kumal then took charge of the batting, guiding Nepal to victory. Dev Khanal remained unbeaten with 32 runs, while Arjun Kumala also played a key role with an unbeaten 32 runs.
Bahrain batted first and was bowled out for just 77 runs in 37.5 overs.
Nepalese bowler Left Arm Spinner Dipesh Kandel was the star, taking 6 wickets for just 4 runs in his 9 overs, including 8 maidens. Left hand pacer Durgesh Gupta also contributed with 4 wickets for 22 runs in his 8 overs, including one maiden.
Nepal’s next match is scheduled against Saudi Arabia on October 19th.
