Nepal secured an effortless victory in their match against Qatar, propelled by the outstanding batting performance of all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee, setting a new record in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup in Oman.
The match, held in Muscat, Oman, saw Nepal triumph over Qatar by a margin of 32 runs. Despite chasing a target of 211 runs set by Nepal, Qatar managed to score only 178 runs within their allotted 20 overs.
Qatar’s captain, Muhammad Tanveer, showcased a commendable performance, scoring 63 runs. Nepal’s Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Gulsan Jha each secured two wickets.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal posted a total of 210 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Aasif Shaikh, Nepal’s opener, delivered a solid half-century innings, scoring 52 runs off 41 balls, including 6 boundaries. Aasif reached his fifty in 39 balls.
Dipendra Singh Airee showcased an exceptional unbeaten half-century, amassing 64 runs in just 21 balls, featuring 3 boundaries and a remarkable 7 sixes. His explosive innings included hitting 6 sixes in a single over, a feat previously achieved by Hershel Gibbs ( South Africa ), Yuvraj Singh ( India ) , Kieran Pollard ( West Indies ), and Jaskaran Malhotra ( USA ). Kushal Malla contributed 35 runs off 18 balls, including 2 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel contributed 18 runs off 17 balls, while Kushal Bhurtel scored 12 runs off 11 balls. For Qatar, Himashun Rathod and Musawar Shah claimed three wickets each.
