Exciting Start to Nepal T10 Cricket Tournament: Day 1 Recap

Biratnagar, Nepal – The Nepal T10 Cricket Tournament kicked off in Biratnagar with thrilling matches that showcased exceptional talent and fierce competition among the participating teams. Organized by Biratnagar Metropolitan City-6 and supported by the Cricket Association of Nepal, Koshi Province Cricket Association, and Morang District Cricket Association, the tournament features seven teams, each including four Indian players. Here’s a recap of the action-packed Day 1:

Match 1: Biratnagar Panthers vs. YRCC Birat Blasters : Scorecard
Biratnagar Panthers edged out YRCC Birat Blasters by 6 runs in a tightly contested match. Due to a wet outfield, the game was reduced to 7 overs per side. Chasing a target of 82 runs, YRCC could only manage 75 runs in their allotted overs. Basir Ahamad shone for the Panthers, scoring 32 runs off 11 balls, including 1 four and 4 sixes. He also took 4 wickets, conceding just 8 runs in 2 overs, earning him the Player of the Match award.

Match 2: Fulbari Cricket Club vs. NBSC Lions : Scorecard 

Fulbari Cricket Club dominated NBSC Lions, winning by 50 runs. Batting first, Fulbari set a formidable target of 158 runs. Santosh Karki made a stunning 64 off 27 balls, hitting 2 fours and 7 sixes, while Rahul Romauld contributed a quick-fire 75 from 29 balls, with 4 fours and 8 sixes. In response, NBSC Lions could only muster 107 runs in their 10 overs. Fulbari’s bowlers, Firdosh Ansari, Santosh Karki, and Dipesh Kandel, each took 2 wickets to seal the victory.

Match 3: Purwanchal Cricket Academy vs. Elite Cricket Club : Scorecard 

Purwanchal Cricket Academy defeated Elite Cricket Club by 18 runs. Batting first, Purwanchal set a target of 107 runs, with Sujan Thalapiya top-scoring with 40 runs off 22 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes. In the bowling department, Vikash Lohia took 2 wickets, while Nirajan Laddi and Saugat Bhattarai claimed 1 wicket each. Despite a valiant effort by Elite’s Dipak Bohara, who scored 66 runs off 28 balls with 4 fours and 6 sixes, Elite Cricket Club fell short, finishing with 88 runs in 10 overs.

Match 4: Birat Sporting vs. Biratnagar Panthers : Scorecard 

In the final match of the day, Birat Sporting triumphed over Biratnagar Panthers by 5 wickets. Chasing a target of 98 runs, Birat Sporting clinched victory on the last ball of the innings. Parwez Sheikh top-scored with 29 runs, supported by Khalid Alam and Kounan Quraishi, who scored 20 runs each, and Shakibul Gani with 22 runs. Shakibul also made an impact with the ball, taking 2 wickets.
