Nepal Falls to Canada by 63 Runs in First T20 World Cup Warm-Up Match

The Nepali team in the USA lost to Canada in their first warm-up match in preparation for the T20 World Cup.

Nepal was defeated by 63 runs in the match held at Grand Prairie Stadium in the USA.

Chasing a target of 184 runs set by Canada, Nepal was all out for 120 runs in 19.3 overs. For Nepal, Kushal Malla scored 37 runs off 30 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes. Anil Shah contributed 24 runs from 16 balls, and Asif Shaikh added 22 runs from 22 balls. Kushal Bhurtel scored 10 runs in 16 balls, while the other batsmen failed to reach double figures. Rohit Paudel scored 1 run from 3 balls, Sundeep Jora 6 from 10, and Gulsan Jha was out for a duck in 4 balls.

For Canada, Dillon Heyliger took 4 wickets, while Saad Bin Zafar and Jeremy Gordon took 2 wickets each. Kaleem Sana and Pragat Singh took 1 wicket each.

Earlier, Canada, after losing the toss and being sent to bat first, scored 183 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.

For Canada, Nicholas Kirton scored a half-century with 51 runs off 39 balls, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes. Ravindrapal Singh remained unbeaten with 41 runs off 17 balls, hitting 1 four and 4 sixes while batting at number 8. Navneet Dhaliwal scored 32 off 27 balls, and Pragad Singh added 13 off 10 balls.

For Nepal, Abhinash Bohara took 2 wickets, while Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Gulsan Jha, Sagar Dhakal, and Lalit Rajbanshi each took 1 wicket.

Nepal will play their second warm-up match against the USA on Thursday at the same ground. This is also the stadium where Nepal will play their first World Cup match, which could be beneficial for the team to familiarize themselves with the conditions by playing both warm-up matches at the World Cup venue.
