During their preparations for the T20 World Cup, the Nepali cricket team defeated the Houston Hurricanes in the second practice match in USA>
Nepal won by 27 runs in the match held at Prairie View Cricket Complex, Houston, on Sunday morning.
Chasing a target of 124 runs set by Nepal, the Houston Hurricanes were all out for 96 runs in 18.3 overs. Zia Shahzad top-scored for Houston with 35 runs off 29 balls, while Imran Khan Jr. and Lahiru Milantha each contributed 16 runs.
For Nepal, Karan KC took 3 wickets, while Sompal Kami and Abhinash Bohara took 2 wickets each. Captain Rohit Paudel and Sagar Dhakal each claimed one wicket.
Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Nepal scored 123 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Rohit Paudel scored 37 runs off 40 balls, and Kushal Bhurtel added 23 runs off 31 balls.
In the first match on Friday, Nepal secured a victory by 6 runs.
Following these matches, Nepal will play two official warm-up matches for the World Cup. Nepal will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on June 4.
The Nepali team, who traveled to the US from Nepal, also played three practice matches in St. Vincent, West Indies, where they had two World Cup matches. Nepal won the three-match practice series against the local team 2-1.
