Nepal registered their first victory in the history of the Women’s Asia Cup by defeating UAE by 6 wickets. Nepal successfully chased the target of 116 runs set by UAE, losing 4 wickets in 16.1 overs.
In Nepal’s victory, opener Samjhana Khadka scored an unbeaten 72 runs off 45 balls, hitting 11 fours. Rubina Chhetri contributed 10 runs in 8 balls. UAE’s Kavisha Egodage was the most successful bowler, taking three wickets.
After losing the toss and batting first, UAE scored 115 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Khushi Sharma top-scored for UAE with 36 runs, followed by Kavisha Egodage with 22 runs, Samaira Dharnidharka with 13 runs, and captain Esha Oza with 10 runs. The remaining players failed to reach double digits.
For Nepal, Indu Barma was the standout bowler, taking three wickets for 19 runs in her four overs. Kritika Marasini, Sabnam Rai, and Kabita Joshi each took one wicket.
