Lalitpur’s DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School ‘A’ team has won the title of the first Dr. Baburam Pokhrel Memorial Inter-School Super Six Cricket Tournament.
In the final match, held on Wednesday at GHCA Indoor Cricket (Cricsal) in Hattiban, Lalitpur, DAV ‘A’ defeated DAV School’s ‘B’ team. The tournament was organized by VS Niketan School, Kathmandu.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, DAV ‘B’ set a modest target of 25 runs. DAV ‘A’ chased it down effortlessly in just 4 overs without losing any wickets, securing a 6-wicket victory. DAV ‘B’ was bowled out in 5 overs of the scheduled 6-over match.
Keshav Agrawal of DAV ‘A’, who was declared Player of the Final, bowled brilliantly, taking 3 wickets for just 6 runs. On the batting side, Subrat Mallik contributed an unbeaten 14 runs, the highest of the match.
In the first semifinal held earlier that day, DAV ‘A’ defeated LRI School by 22 runs, while DAV ‘B’ secured their final spot by beating APF School by 6 wickets.
Prasiddha Jaisi of DAV ‘A’ was named the Player of the Tournament and also received the Best Batter award. Bilak Neupane from Manakamana School was awarded Best Bowler.
The tournament, which began on September 8, featured teams from 26 schools across the Kathmandu Valley.
