Scotland’s all-rounder Brandon McMullen has been signed by Sudurpaschim Royals for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL). The franchise made the announcement via their social media on Monday.
The 25-year-old batting all-rounder has represented Scotland in 22 ODIs and 16 T20Is, with his highest ODI score being 136 and his best T20I score of 96. McMullen is no stranger to Nepal, having played in the country last year during the ICC World Cup League-2. Sudurpaschim Royals believe McMullen’s arrival will strengthen their squad significantly.
Sudurpaschim Royals, led by marquee player Dipendra Singh Airee, have Jagat Tamata as their head coach for the tournament.
Additionally, the franchise has appointed former Australian cricketer Brad Hodge as the team’s chief mentor for the NPL. Hodge, a member of Australia’s 2007 World Cup-winning squad, is expected to bring valuable experience and leadership to the team. Hodge has also played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Kolkata Knight Riders, further adding to his impressive resume.
Sudurpaschim Royals hope that under the guidance of Brad Hodge, they will deliver high-level performances in the tournament.
The first edition of the NPL, featuring 8 teams, will be held from November 30 to December 20, 2024.
