The much-awaited schedule for the ACC U19 Asia Cup, organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), has been released. Nepal is set to kick off its campaign against Sri Lanka in the inaugural match.
As per the fixture released by the ACC on Friday, the tournament is slated to take place from November 29 to December 8.
In the opening match scheduled for November 29, Nepal will lock horns with Sri Lanka.
Nepal will then face Bangladesh on December 1, followed by a match against Afghanistan on December 3.
- November 29: Nepal vs. Sri Lanka (Sharjah)
- December 1: Nepal vs. Bangladesh (Dubai )
- December 3: Nepal vs. Afghanistan (Sharjah)
The 50-over matches will be hosted in the UAE. A total of eight Asian countries will participate in this ACC-organized event. Five Test-playing nations from Asia have automatically qualified for the tournament.
Nepal, UAE, and Japan secured their spots by finishing in the top three of the ACC Premier Cup held in Malaysia last year. Notably, Nepal emerged as champions in this tournament after defeating the UAE in October.
The eight participating teams have been divided into two groups. Nepal is placed in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
Group A comprises India, Pakistan, Japan, and the UAE. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. The final will be played between the two semifinal winners on December 8.
The tournament will serve as an opportunity for Nepal to test its young talent and gain valuable experience on an international platform. All matches are set to begin at 9:00 AM UAE time.
