Ravi Bopara’s half-century with the bat, combined with stellar bowling performances from Sohail Tanvir and Rijan Dhakal, led Chitwan Rhinos to their second consecutive win in the Nepal Premier League.
In the second match on Tuesday, Chitwan defeated Pokhara Avengers by a massive 87-run margin.
Chasing a target of 162, Pokhara was bowled out for just 74 runs in 13.2 overs, thanks to brilliant bowling from Tanvir, Dhakal, and Luke Benkenstein, who each picked up three wickets.
Earlier, Chitwan batted first after losing the toss and posted 161/7 in 20 overs.
Ravi Bopara top-scored with 51 runs off 38 balls, including three fours and three sixes. Captain Kushal Malla smashed 38 runs off 23 balls with one four and four sixes. Luke Benkenstein contributed 16, Hassan Eisakhil scored 15, while Amar Singh Routela and Sharad Vesawkar remained unbeaten with 13 and 11 runs, respectively.
Chitwan was in trouble at 46/3, but a crucial 68-run partnership between captain Kushal Malla and Ravi Bopara steadied the innings, setting up a strong total that their bowlers defended comfortably.
