APF Club has won the Prime Minister Cup Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament held in Dhangadhi. In today’s final match, APF secured a dominant nine-wicket victory over the home team Sudurpashchim Province to claim the championship.
With this win, APF has successfully defended their title for the second consecutive year. Along with the trophy, APF received a cash prize of NPR 500,000, while Sudurpashchim Province, as the runner-up, earned NPR 300,000.
Chasing a target of 68 runs, APF reached the victory in just 12.5 overs with the loss of one wicket. Mamata Chaudhary remained unbeaten with 43 runs, while captain Indu Barma contributed 18 not out.
Earlier, Sudurpashchim Province, opting to bat first after winning the toss at Fapla Cricket Ground, were bowled out for just 67 runs in 18.1 overs. Mamata Bohora scored 18, and captain Bindu Rawal added 17 runs; however, none of the other batters managed to reach double figures.
For APF, Kabita Joshi took three wickets, while captain Indu Barma and Sawanam Rai claimed two wickets each. Kabita was named the Player of the Match for her impressive bowling performance. Meanwhile, APF captain Indu Barma, who scored 172 runs and took five wickets in the tournament, was honored as the Player of the Series.
Mamata Chaudhary, who scored 209 runs for APF, was awarded the Best Batter title, while Manisha Upadhyay of Bagmati, who took 10 wickets, was named the Best Bowler. The Player of the Series received a cash prize of NPR 50,000, while the Best Batter and Best Bowler each received NPR 25,000.
The tournament, which began on January 15 (Magh 1), featured the participation of 12 teams. It was organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) as part of the National Sports Council’s program, with management support from the Sudurpashchim Provincial Cricket Association.
The closing ceremony featured notable attendees, including CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand, Vice President Roshan Singh, Sudurpashchim Sports Council Member Secretary Deepak Bahadur Singh, Sudurpashchim Provincial Cricket Association President Basudev Joshi, along with several players and officials.
