Nepal Women’s cricket team faced another tough defeat in the Women’s T20I Tri Series as they lost by 5 runs to Thailand in their 6th match. This loss adds to a string of setbacks in the series, with Nepal now enduring four straight defeats.
In their opening match, Nepal went down to the Netherlands by 20 runs. In the second match, Thailand triumphed by 4 wickets, and in the third, Nepal fell short by 15 runs. Despite some spirited individual performances, Nepal’s batting and bowling units couldn’t fire in unison, leading to these narrow but significant losses.

Thailand, after winning the toss, chose to bat first and put up a modest total. Key contributions came from Chanida Sutthiruang (27 off 28 balls), Thipatcha Putthawong (25 off 31 balls), and Nannapat Koncharoenkai (19 off 23 balls).
Manisha Upadhayay starred with the ball for Nepal, claiming 3 wickets for 18 runs in her 4 overs, while Rachana Chaudary and Puja Mahato each took a wicket.
In reply, Nepal Women struggled to chase down the target, with Rubina Chhetri (26 off 30 balls) and Kabita Joshi (24 off 20 balls) providing the only resistance.
Thipatcha Putthawong’s brilliant bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for just 1 run in 4 overs, left Nepal’s middle order in disarray. Phannita Maya supported with 2 wickets, as Nepal’s batting collapsed under the pressure.
Despite a late rally by Roma Thapa, who remained unbeaten on 19, Nepal Women couldn’t cross the line and suffered their fourth consecutive loss in the series.
This hard-fought victory for Thailand Women boosted their confidence, while Nepal will look to regroup and bounce back in the remaining matches.
