The Women’s Day Cup, a four-nation T20I series, begins today in Uganda, coinciding with International Women’s Day. The tournament features Nepal, Namibia, Hong Kong, and hosts Uganda. Two matches are scheduled for the opening day.
In the first match, Uganda will face Hong Kong, while Nepal will take on Namibia in the second game. Nepal’s match is set to start at 4:45 PM NST.
This will be Nepal’s first-ever encounter with Namibia in women’s cricket. However, Nepal has previously played against the other participating teams.
According to the ICC Women’s T20I rankings, Namibia is ranked 17th, Uganda 18th, Nepal 21st, and Hong Kong 22nd.
Nepal’s fixtures for the tournament:
- March 8: vs. Namibia
- March 9: vs. Uganda
- March 10: vs. Hong Kong
- March 12: vs. Namibia
- March 13: vs. Uganda
- March 14: vs. Hong Kong
After the group-stage matches, the top two teams will compete in the final, while the remaining two teams will play for third place.
