VXL United Clinches ANCA Super League Title in Adelaide, Australia

VXL United emerged victorious in the ANCA Super League held in Adelaide, Australia, defeating Southern Knights Cricket Club by four wickets in the final.

Organized by the Adelaide Nepalese Cricket Association (ANCA), the final match took place on Sunday at Kellett Reserve Oval, where VXL United chased down the target of 164 runs in 19.3 overs, losing six wickets in the process.

With this triumph, VXL United secured the championship title along with a cash prize of 4,000 Australian dollars, while the runner-up, Southern Knights, received 1,000 Australian dollars.

Match Summary

Batting at number three, Sanjay Khatri led VXL United’s chase with a match-winning knock of 60 runs off 48 balls, hitting six fours and one six. He was named Player of the Match for his brilliant performance.

Opener Sunam Gautam provided a strong start, scoring 30 runs off 20 balls, including three fours and a six. Ankit Shrestha (21), Prabesh Thapa (13), and Ashish Pokhrel (9) contributed in the middle order, while Subash Khakurel (11*) and Pramod Basnet (6*) remained unbeaten. Basnet sealed the victory with a six.

For Southern Knights, Bikram Sob, Anup Bhusal, Raju Gurung, and Ankit Shrestha each claimed one wicket.


Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Southern Knights posted a competitive total of 163/7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Bikram Sob played an explosive knock, smashing 64 runs off just 25 balls, including three fours and seven sixes. Govind Karki (32), Sangam Gautam (22), Sagar Kshetri (18), and Prasun Thapa (16) also contributed valuable runs.

For VXL United, left-arm spinner Ashish Pokhrel was the standout bowler, taking three wickets for just 14 runs in his four-over spell. Prabesh Thapa bagged two wickets, while Sanjay Khatri and Pramod Basnet took one each.

Southern Knights had earlier secured their place in the final by defeating VXL United in the first qualifier. However, VXL United bounced back in the second qualifier, beating Gurkha Gladiators to set up a rematch in the final, where they clinched the title.
