The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event brought together all member nations, with 100% attendance, showing strong unity among Asian cricketing bodies.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Mohsin Naqvi, ACC President and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. He praised Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Mr. Aminul Islam for the warm hospitality and smooth coordination in hosting the AGM.
This marked the first time the ACC AGM was hosted in Dhaka, making it a historic occasion for Bangladesh cricket.
One of the major highlights of the meeting was the inclusion of three new member nations — Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and the Philippines. Their entry into the ACC signals a major expansion into new regions for cricket.
With this move, the ACC aims to promote cricket in emerging countries and grow the sport beyond its traditional strongholds in Asia.
Another key announcement from the AGM was the confirmation of cricket’s inclusion in the 2026 Asian Games, which will be held in Japan.
A total of 10 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams will participate in the Games. Teams will qualify based on their current rankings, making the competition both prestigious and competitive.
The AGM also approved the audited financial accounts and the ACC’s budget for the year. This ensures transparency and accountability across the organization.
In addition, the ACC released its complete tournament calendar for 2025–2026. The schedule reflects a strong commitment to structured development and high-quality tournaments throughout the region.
Throughout the meeting, ACC members reaffirmed their dedication to putting cricket first. Development, inclusivity, and long-term growth were the central themes.
The AGM concluded with a shared vision to take Asian cricket to new heights — united, forward-looking, and ready to welcome new opportunities.
