Nepal secured a thrilling win against South Australia in a practice One-Day match on Saturday, thanks to captain Rohit Paudel’s unbeaten century.
Chasing a target of 243 runs, Nepal reached the mark with five balls to spare, finishing on 243/8.
For Nepal, skipper Rohit Paudel remained unbeaten on 101 runs, steering his team from a precarious position. From 161/8, he and Sompal Kami shared a crucial 85 runs partnership stand to seal the win. Sompal remained not out on 38 runs.
Earlier, Gulshan Jha supported Rohit after Nepal had slipped to 74/5. Gulshan contributed 36 runs before being dismissed with the score at 157/6, after which Nepal again stumbled to 161/8.
Batting first after losing the toss, South Australia were bowled out for 242 runs in 45 overs, setting Nepal a target of 243.
For South Australia, Harry Manenti top-scored with 63, while Duwit Hoganbosam added 53. Ryan King scored 35 and Mackenzie Harvey made 24.
Among Nepal’s bowlers, Nandan Yadav and Sompal Kami took three wickets each, while Sandeep Lamichhane, Shahab Alam, and Rupesh Singh claimed one each.
This victory comes after Nepal had beaten Australian Capital Territory (ACT) in a practice T20 but lost against South Australia earlier.
