Nepal has sealed the Unity Cup T20I series in the UAE with one game to spare after defeating the West Indies for the second consecutive match.
In the second T20I, Nepal registered a thumping 90-run victory. Chasing Nepal’s strong target of 174, the West Indies were bowled out for just 83 runs. Jason Holder top-scored for the visitors with 21, but the team never looked in control of the game.
For Nepal, Adil Alam was the star with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 24 runs in his 4 overs. Kushal Bhurtel claimed 3 wickets, while Lalit Rajbanshi and Dipendra Singh Airee picked up one each.
Earlier, after winning the toss and batting first, Nepal posted 173/6 in 20 overs. Openers Aasif Sheikh and Sandeep Jora shone with half-centuries. Sheikh remained unbeaten on 68 from 47 balls, while Jora smashed 63 off 39. The pair shared a crucial 100-run partnership for the fourth wicket after Nepal were struggling at 43/3.
For the West Indies, skipper Akeal Hosein was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs, while Kyle Mayers (2/26) and Jediah Blades (1) also contributed with wickets.
This victory comes after Nepal’s historic win in the first match, and with it, Nepal has now secured a historic series triumph over a Test-playing nation.
