Sudurpaschim’s third win in a row against Milan’s deadly bowling, Yunish’s 5 wickets in Karnali’s victory

Sudurpaschim Province and Karnali Province have won the two matches completed on the fifth day under the ongoing Under-19 National Tournament in Kathmandu. Sudurpaschim defeated Gandaki and Karnali defeated Madhesh Pradesh.

Sudurpaschim defeated Gandaki by 113 runs in the match held at TU Cricket Ground Kirtipur. Chasing the target of 214 runs given by Sudurpaschim, Gandaki scored only 100 runs in 32.5 overs.
Milan Bohara, the left-arm spinner of Far West, single-handedly destroyed Gandaki’s innings by taking 6 wickets. This is the best bowling spell in the ongoing tournament. Milan cost only 11 runs with 4 maiden overs in 9.5 overs. Aakash Chand took 2 wickets and Naren Saud took 1 wicket.

Opener Arjun Kumal and Govind Bick shared a partnership of 42 runs, but after that, Gandaki lost wickets easily. Govind scored 22 runs, Arjun scored 20 runs, Subas Bhandari scored 16 runs and Karan Pangeni scored 15 runs.

After winning the toss and batting, Sudurpaschim scored 213 runs in 49.3 overs and lost all wickets. Aakash Chand, who batted at number nine for him, scored the highest 40 runs. Captain Anurag Singh scored 37, Naren Saud scored 28, Milan Bohara scored 24, Gajendra Bohara and Hemant Dhami scored 19 runs.

Sudurpaschim lost 6 wickets while scoring 106 runs. Sunil Chand and Naren Saud added 42 runs for the seventh wicket. Aakash Chand and Hemant Dhami also shared a partnership of 42 runs for the ninth wicket.

Gandaki captain off-spinner Subash Bhandari took 3 wickets while Sudip Aryal, Nirtesh Giri, Shishir Bhusal, Sibrin Shrestha, Arjun Kumal and Sachinraj Adhikari took 1 wicket each.

After winning all three matches, Sudurpaschim is at the top of the points table with 6 points. After the same result, Bagmati is second behind in net run rate. After losing all three matches, Gandaki province is in the seventh position.

Tough win for Karnali, 5 wickets for Yunish Singh

Madhesh Pradesh defeated Karnali by 2 wickets in the second match held at Mulpani ground. Pursuing the target of 136 runs given by Madhesh, Karnali achieved the target by losing 8 wickets in 34.4 overs.

After scoring 84 runs and losing 6 wickets, Mohan Bik managed to win the team. Mohan shared an unbeaten 30-run partnership with Younis Singh for the ninth wicket. Mohan scored 38 runs off 40 balls with the help of 6 fours. Younis scored 3 runs off 20 balls. Earlier, opener Manish Thapa scored 32, Anirudh Kavar 16 and Subhas Iyer scored 14 runs.

Even though Ranjit Kumar of Madhesh Pradesh took 5 wickets alone, it was not enough to win. In 10 overs, Kumar spent 23 runs with 3 maiden overs. Abjit Mandal took 2 wickets and Rajesh Yadav took 1 wicket.

After winning the toss, Madhesh scored 135 runs in 41.5 overs. Madhesh opener Shailendra Shah scored the highest 31 runs. Mayan Yadav scored 18 runs, Sarfraz Mansuri scored 17 runs, Megh Raj Ram scored 16 runs and W Malik scored 15 runs.

Yunish Bikram Singh of Karnali Pradesh took 5 wickets in which he spent 35 runs with 2 maiden overs in 10 overs. Awash Shahal and Mohan BK took 2/2 and Ganesh Dadel took 1 wicket.

Karnali is in fifth place with 2 points after the first win after playing 3 games. Madhesh province is in sixth place after losing both matches.
