Nepal U-19 cricket team to be led by Gulsan Jha in World Cup Asia Qualifiers

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the appointment of Gulsan Jha as the captain of the Nepali U-19 cricket team for the upcoming World Cup Asia Qualifiers. Dipesh Kandel has been named as the vice-captain. The tournament will be held in the UAE.

Gulsan made his national team debut in September 2021 at the age of 16 and will captain the team for the first time.

Nepal will compete against Kuwait, Malaysia, UAE, Hong Kong, and Singapore in the tournament. The winner will qualify for the U-19 World Cup to be held in Sri Lanka in 2024.

Nepal’s first match will be against Singapore on February 24, followed by matches against Kuwait, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and UAE. The tournament will take place at the Malek Ground and Eden Gardens in Ajman.

The 14-member Nepali team for the tournament includes Aakash Tripathi, Arjun Kumal, Deepak Bohra, Uttam Thapa Magar, Deepak Dumre, Hemant Dhami, Durgesh Gupta, Dev Khanal, Subash Bhandari, Bishal Bikram KC, and Milan Bohara.
