Nepal Government Takes Charge of Gautam Buddha Cricket Stadium Construction

The government of Nepal has decided to take ownership and complete the construction of the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium. The decision was made in a recent meeting of the cabinet after years of delay due to a lack of funds. The stadium, located in Chitwan, was being constructed by the Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation with a loan of NPR 18 crore, but the project was put on hold as the foundation was unable to repay the loan.

The Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium was expected to boost the development of sports in the country, and the decision to complete its construction has been welcomed by many. The foundation’s co-founder, Sitaram Kattel, had urged the government to take ownership of the stadium in the past.

The stadium’s construction will resume under the ownership of the government of Nepal, and it is expected to be completed soon. This move is seen as a positive step towards the development of sports in the country and the promotion of cricket as a popular sport.
