Nepal is gearing up for their second match in the triangular series featuring Nepal, Namibia, and the Netherlands, a part of the ICC World Cup League 2—a qualifying event for the 2027 ODI World Cup. The match, set to take place on Saturday morning at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur starting from 9:30 AM, will see Nepal facing Netherlands.

In response, Nepal was bundled out for 134 runs in 41.5 overs while chasing the target. Gyanendra Malla’s fifty ( 51 ) and Paras Khadka’s four-wicket haul were notable performances for Nepal.

However, Nepal avenged their loss in their second encounter with the Netherlands during the same series, securing a thrilling one-run victory. Opting to bat first again, Nepal set a target of 217 runs, thanks to half-centuries from Paras Khadka ( 51 ) and Sompal Kami( 61). Despite Wesley Berresi’s 71 for the Netherlands, they fell short by a single run, bowled out for 216 in the last ball of the innings.

Their most recent clash took place during the ICC World Cup qualifier in Zimbabwe, where the Netherlands emerged victorious by seven wickets. Chasing a target of 168 runs, the Netherlands achieved victory in 27.1 overs, with Max O’Dowd’s 90 being the standout performance.

With the upcoming match being the first ODI encounter between Nepal and the Netherlands on Nepali soil, Nepal aims to script a historic win.
