Nepal qualified for the U19 World Cup after an 8-year gap.

Nepal U19: Make history by defeating UAE in the U19 World Cup qualifier to secure a place in the U19 World Cup. Nepal U19 won the match against UAE in a nail-biting match in the CWC Asia Division 1 Qualifier 2023 to secure a place in the ICC U19 World Cup. Nepal registered a close victory over UAE by 7 runs in Ajman, UAE.

UAE only managed to score 185 runs with all their wickets lost. Ethan Carl D’Souza was the top scorer for UAE, scoring 50 off 66 balls, and Aryan Saxena scored 34 runs in 65 balls.

Dipesh Kandel took a five-wicket haul, while Hemant Dhami and Subash Bhandari took 2 wickets each for Nepal. Nepal conceded 9 extra runs on 3 wides.

Before that, UAE won the toss and elected to bowl first. Nepal only managed to score 191 runs in 48.5 overs and lost all their wickets. Dev Khanal was the top scorer for Nepal, scoring 51 runs off 84 balls, while Bishal Bikram Kc scored 38 runs in 50 balls.

For UAE, Dhruv Parashar took 3 wickets, while Harit Harish Shetty and Aayan Afzal Khan took 2 wickets each. The UAE bowlers gave away 10 extras, which included 6 wides.

Dipesh Kandel was named the Man of the Match for his outstanding 5/42.

Nepal wins the tournament with the most points, ahead of the UAE.

The tournament features six teams, including the host UAE, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia, Singapore, and Nepal.

The table-topper in the tournament, which will continue until March 2, will earn a qualification spot for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup set to take place in Sri Lanka in 2024.

Now Nepal will play the ICC U19 World Cup in Sri Lanka next year, after an 8-year gap.
