Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane continues to shine in the ongoing Global T20 Canada League, showcasing exceptional form in Canada. During the fourth match, he secured the ‘Moment of the Match’ award for the third time.
In the Saturday morning match against Mississauga Panthers, Sandeep made a significant impact by taking three crucial wickets, including those of aggressive batsmen Cameron Delport and James Neesham, which turned the game in his team’s favor. His outstanding performance earned him a cash prize of fifteen hundred dollars (approximately Rs. 196,500), marking his third win of the five hundred dollar award.
Previously, Sandeep claimed the award twice: once by taking two wickets against Montreal Tigers in the first game and again by securing two wickets against Toronto Nationals in the third game. Despite his consistent success, he missed out on the player of the match award.
Adding to the list of uplifting moments for Nepali players, Dipendra Airee claimed the ‘Moment of the Match’ award during Wednesday’s game against the Vancouver Knights.
