Easy Win for Pakistan Over Nepal in Women’s Asia Cup

In the second match of the ninth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, Pakistan secured an easy victory over Nepal, winning by nine wickets.

Pakistan chased down Nepal’s target of 109 runs in just 11.5 overs, losing only one wicket in the process. Gull Feroza led the way with 57 runs off 35 balls, while Muneeba Ali remained unbeaten with 46 runs off 34 balls. Kabita Joshi took the sole wicket for Nepal.

Earlier, Nepal batted first after losing the toss, posting a total of 108 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Kabita Joshi top-scored for Nepal with an unbeaten 31 off 23 balls, hitting 4 fours and 1 six. This marked the first six hit by Nepal in the history of the Women’s Asia Cup. Opener Sita Rana Magar contributed 26 runs off 30 balls, and Puja Mahato scored 25 runs off 32 balls. Kabita Kunwar added 13 runs off 13 balls.

For Pakistan, Sadiya Iqbal took two wickets, and Fatima Sana claimed one wicket.

With this win, Pakistan remains in contention for a semi-final spot. Despite the defeat, Nepal’s chances of reaching the semi-finals are still alive.

India, with two consecutive wins in Group A, has already qualified for the semi-finals. Nepal will face India in their final group stage match on Tuesday.
