Sandeep and Lalit Not Picked in BBL Draft

In the Big Bash League (BBL) draft, two spin bowlers from the Nepal national cricket team, Sandeep Lamichhane and Lalit Rajbanshi, were not picked by any team.

On Wednesday, the Big Bash announced the list of players for both the men’s and women’s leagues, featuring cricketers from 30 different countries.

Sandeep Lamichhane first represented the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League during the 2018/19 season. He continued with the Stars for the 2019/20 season and later played for the Hobart Hurricanes in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons. Sandeep recently played in the Global T20 League, but has not participated in other leagues since then.

Left-arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi, who has represented Nepal in international leagues, has played 29 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 21 T20 Internationals (T20Is) for Nepal. He has taken 37 wickets in ODIs and 18 wickets in T20Is. Lalit made his T20I debut for Nepal against the Netherlands in 2018.
