Kathmandu Gorkhas have confirmed their full squad for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2. The team now includes 18 players, combining experience, youth, and international talent.
The franchise completed its foreign signings with Indian all-rounder Sunny Patel, joining as the sixth overseas player. From the Talent Hunt, fast bowler Natarajan Shah earned a place in the squad.
Kathmandu retained six players — Karan KC (captain), Bhim Sharki, Shahab Alam, Dipesh Kandel, Rashid Khan, and Pratik Shrestha.
Through the Mini Auction, the team added Adil Alam, Uttam Magar, Akash Tripathi, Tul Bahadur Thapa, and Santosh Yadav.
Among the foreign signings, Namibian captain Gerhard Erasmus returns after a strong first season. He is joined by Milind Kumar (USA), Ben Charlesworth (England), John Simpson (England), Ricardo Vasconcelos (South Africa), and Sunny Patel (India).
To strengthen the coaching unit, Kathmandu appointed Monty Desai, former head coach of the Nepal national team. He will work alongside Basanta Shahi Thakuri, who coached the side in the first season.
Kathmandu narrowly missed the playoffs in the previous edition, finishing level on points with two teams but falling short on net run rate.
The team, representing Bagmati Province, aims for a stronger comeback this season with a balanced squad and experienced leadership.
The Nepal Premier League Season 2 will take place from Mangsir 1 to 27 (November 17 – December 13) at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
