Lumbini Lions started their Nepal Premier League journey in style, defeating Chitwan Rhinos by six wickets at the TU International Cricket Ground.
Chasing a target of 143, Lumbini reached the total in 18.3 overs. Gulbadin Naib played a composed knock of 44 runs*, while captain Rohit Paudel supported with 39. For Chitwan, Rijan Dhakal picked up two wickets.
Earlier, Chitwan Rhinos posted 142/7 after being sent in to bat. Ravi Bopara top-scored with an impressive 66, and skipper Kushal Malla contributed 21. The rest chipped in with small but useful runs.
With the ball, Ruben Trumpelmann starred for Lumbini, grabbing three wickets, while Abhishesh Gautam and Gulbadin Naib bagged two each to restrict Chitwan.
