Naresh Shrestha, an advisor and former vice president of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), sadly passed away at the Kathmandu Teaching Hospital on Friday while undergoing treatment.
He was not only an influential figure in cricket administration but also the proud father of the national cricketers, Unil Shrestha and Manjeet Shrestha.
In 2009, the International Cricket Council (ICC) awarded Naresh Shrestha the prestigious ICC Centenary Medal, acknowledging his outstanding and enduring contributions to the development of Nepali cricket.
As the news of his passing spread, the Nepal Cricket Association expressed their deep sorrow and paid heartfelt tributes to the late cricket stalwart on social media platforms. Colleagues, players, and fans have also poured in with messages of condolences, reminiscing about his invaluable contributions to the game.
