Nepal Women Lose by 3 Runs to Malaysia

Nepal Women’s National Cricket Team lost the first T20I match of the series against Malaysia.

In the match held at the YSD-UKM Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia defeated Nepal by 3 runs. Chasing a target of 105 runs, Nepal managed to score only 101 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Needing 7 runs in the final over, Kabita Joshi and Rajmati Airee were at the crease but could add only 3 runs.

For Nepal, Puja Mahato top-scored with 30 runs, while Samjhana Khadka made 18, Kabita Joshi remained unbeaten on 13, and captain Indu Barma scored 12 runs.

For Malaysia, Nur Dania Syuhada took 3 wickets conceding only 10 runs in 4 overs, while captain Winifred Duraisingam and Aisya Eleesa claimed 2 wickets each.

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Malaysia scored 104 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Captain Winifred Duraisingam scored 27, Aina Hamizah 26, and Mas Elysa 25 runs.

For Nepal, Somu Bista took 2 wickets and Rubina Chhetry took 1 wicket.

The second match of the series will be played on Saturday.
