Nepal Women’s National Cricket Team registered their first victory in the T20I series against Malaysia.
In the second match held at the YSD-UKM Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Nepal defeated Malaysia by 6 wickets. Chasing a target of 92 runs, Nepal reached the mark in 16.2 overs losing 4 wickets.
Puja Mahato top-scored with 39 runs, while captain Indu Barma remained unbeaten on 27 runs and Rubi Poddar contributed 15 runs.
After losing two wickets without scoring, Puja and Rubi built a crucial 43-run partnership for the third wicket, followed by another 37-run stand between Puja and Indu.
For Malaysia, Ainna Hamizah took 2 wickets, while Nur Dania Syuhada and Nur Alya took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Malaysia posted 91 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Aina Hamizah remained unbeaten on 50 runs, and captain Winifred Duraisingam made 15 runs.
For Nepal, Somu Bista took 2 wickets, while Kabita Kunwar picked up 1 wicket.
Nepal had lost the first match by 3 runs. With this win, the five-match series is now level at 1-1. The third T20I will be played on Sunday.
